One of the biggest questions that new Design Space users have is how to use fonts that they download in the Cricut software. Thankfully, I am here to show you exactly how simple it is.
How to install free fonts for the Cricut app. Uploading fonts to Cricut Design Space is relatively straight forward on a computer. It is a bit more complicated on a mobile phone or tablet. How to install font on Cricut Design Space on your computer. After downloading the font you want, open the zip. Find the fonts you love from a variety of free font sites and download them to your device. This is a skill that every Cricut lover needs to know how to perform. Note: There is also an option to buy fonts from Cricut but this method will help save you loads of money! However they are usually personal use only and aren’t always the best quality to use in designs to be cut. You can definitely try them though, but I highly recommend trying the free weekly fonts, $1 deals, and font bundles out there.
How to Use Downloaded Fonts in Design Space – Installation

Download the font to your computer (using the download button), and it will be delivered in a .zip format. It will usually pop up in your bottom toolbar, or you may have to go into your folders to find your downloads.
Unzip the folder. To do this, my Mac just requires me to click on it and it unzips. For PC users, right click and choose Unzip. Open it to see the font files. There may be two versions, a .ttf and a .otf. If so, I always choose the .otf version to install.
For Macs, right click and choose Open With –> Font Book, and then choose Install Font. Auto tune microphone software free. For PCs, right click and choose install.

If you are a designer, you will want to make sure to be a little extra organized when downloading fonts if you plan to use them often. I recommend installing the OTF version of the font when available, otherwise download the TTF version.

- Unzip File (if not done so automatically by your computer)
- Right click on the font (.otf or .ttf format) and click install
Alternatively, sometimes you may be able to double click the font and click the Install button
Option 2
- Unzip File (if not done so automatically by your computer)
- Search for Fonts on your computer (like in the search box by the start menu)
- Click on Fonts (Control Panel) which will open the Fonts Manager
- Drag and Drop your font (.otf or .ttf format) into Fonts Manager or Copy and Paste your font into Fonts Manager
Option 3
- Unzip File (if not done so automatically by your computer)
- Open Control Panel
- You may also have to select Appearance and Personalization to find the Fonts Folder
- Double Click on the Fonts Folder to open
- Drag and Drop your font (.otf or .ttf format) into the Fonts Folder
Tip: If you are a designer I strongly recommend downloading a Font Management program to help you organize commercial use, personal use, and frequently used fonts.
You may need to restart your computer if your computer does not immediately read your new font.

Option 1
- Unzip File (if not done so automatically by your computer)
- Double Click your font (.otf or .ttf format)
- Click Install when the option appears in Font Book

- Open Font Book (found in Launchpad or search for “font” in Launchpad to find it)
- Drag your font (.otf or .ttf format) in. You may want to make sure “All Fonts” is selected on the left of your window

Another Tip for Designers: I have had problems in the past with duplicate fonts. An easy way to keep your downloaded fonts from causing problems is by creating a Folder to drop them into and THEN pulling the font from that folder into Font Book.
